Colombia Rehab is a referral service that connects English-speaking patients from the United States, Canada, the UK, and beyond with vetted rehabilitation centres in Bogotá and Medellín.
We are not a treatment provider. We do not employ doctors, therapists, or counsellors. What we do is help you navigate the landscape of addiction treatment in Colombia — identifying facilities that match your clinical needs, budget, and personal preferences — so you can make an informed decision about your care.
Our service is free to patients. We are compensated by partner facilities through referral arrangements.
How We Vet Facilities
We do not list every rehab centre in Colombia. We apply consistent criteria to identify facilities that meet international standards of care:
Clinical Standards
- Licensed by Colombia's Ministry of Health (Secretaría de Salud)
- Medical director must be a licensed psychiatrist or addiction medicine specialist
- Evidence-based treatment modalities (CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care)
- Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) available for opioid, alcohol, and benzodiazepine dependence
- Dual diagnosis capability — ability to treat co-occurring mental health conditions
- Structured daily programming with documented treatment plans
Safety and Operations
- 24/7 medical staff on-site (nursing minimum; physician on-call)
- Emergency protocols and proximity to hospital facilities
- Clean, maintained facilities with appropriate living conditions
- Patient rights policies, confidentiality protections, and grievance procedures
- Transparent pricing with no hidden fees
International Patient Readiness
- English-speaking clinical staff (therapists and medical team)
- Experience treating international patients
- Airport transfer coordination
- Communication protocols for families abroad
- Discharge planning that accounts for returning to home country
🔍 Our Vetting Is Ongoing
Initial vetting is only the beginning. We maintain relationships with partner facilities and revisit our assessments regularly. If we receive credible concerns about a facility — clinical quality, patient safety, billing practices — we investigate and can remove facilities from our network.
What We Do Not Do

- We do not guarantee treatment outcomes — addiction recovery is complex and individual
- We do not handle medical records, prescriptions, or clinical communications
- We do not fabricate reviews, testimonials, or success rates
- We do not pressure patients toward specific facilities
